Netflix revolutionized the way we watch our favorite movies and TV shows. Long gone are the days when you had to physically go somewhere to rent out that one movie, or your favorite season of that one show. Unlike many websites, Netflix is purely subscription based. This may seem like a drawback, but it’s not when you realize that free is not always best. Is Netflix really the best movie streaming website? The short answer is “yes.” The long answer is below.
So. Many. Options.
It’s a running joke that you spend just as much time browsing Netflix as you do actually watching it. There are so many shows and movies to pick from that you do get overwhelmed at first. There are critically acclaimed series, such as Breaking Bad, and classics, such as Scrubs. The content is constantly changing, so make sure to check the internet for updates. One huge draw is the 2012 deal that is finally bearing fruit, where Netflix will stream Disney films exclusively, beginning in September of 2016.
Netflix Originals Are Fantastic, Mostly
Netflix has become known for churning out original programming of fantastic caliber. It’s one of the reasons we think Netflix is the best movie streaming website out there. One of my favorites has to be Marvel’s Daredevil, which just aired its second season. Don’t like gritty superhero shows? Then maybe you should try out House of Cards or the more accessible Fuller House. The popularity of Netflix Originals has prompted Netflix to invest in even more original films and series, so you can look forward to more quality content in the future.
Let’s Talk Subscription Options
So what’s this all going to cost you? Basic is the best option if you don’t care about HD and you’re going to be the only one watching. Premium is definitely the best option for families or for friends wanting to save on cost. The standard $9.99/month is actually a great deal when you consider the ridiculous amount of content you’re getting access to. The added benefit of watching content on almost any device is a nice bonus as well.
