Even After Doping Scandal, Livestrong Remains Best Fitness Website

Livestrong is brought to us by the Livestrong foundation. The foundation is one that Lance Armstrong helped to start. The foundation aims to support cancer patients (at Livestrong.org) and offer tools to help people eat healthy, get in shape, and stay healthy (at Livestrong.com). Livestrong.com is without a doubt the best fitness website. And Livestrong.org may be one of the best websites for cancer patients.

Where Livestrong Money Goes

The foundation was originally called the Lance Armstrong foundation but was renamed after Lance Armstrong was stripped of his 7 Tour De France titles following a doping scandal. Even though donations to the foundation sky-rocketed after Lance decided to stop fighting the doping charges, WSJ reports that donations are now drying up. Nevertheless, the foundation is still receiving an enormous amount of donations. In 2012, ESPN reported that the foundation has received over $470 million since its inception in 1997. With a bank like that, it should be no surprise that the Livestrong foundation delivers us high quality health-minded websites.

Not all of their donation money goes to their website services. They say that 82% of the funds they have received have gone directly to support programs for survivors of cancer. On the Livestrong.org website (which is the main home of the Livestrong foundation), you can find things like advice to cancer patients, job openings in the Livestrong organization, and ways to get involved in cancer-support events.
