Khan Academy is changing the world with free educational videos
Khan Academy has a stated mission of “providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere.” They have free video lectures. Their collection is comprehensive. You can find videos ranging from Calculus to Organic Chemistry and even Microeconomics. They have particularly good science and math educational videos. Their videos are usually about ten minutes long. Khan Academy is making a great impact on the world. Anyone with access to the internet now has access to high quality free educational videos.
We have Salman Khan to thank
Most of the high quality free educational videos featured on Khan Academy are made by Salman Khan. He is a graduate of MIT and Harvard Business School. Most people find him to be concise and easy to understand. He makes learning enjoyable because he is funny too. He makes complex subjects simple.
Google sponsored Khan Academy
Google announced, “the Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organization that provides high-quality, free education to anyone, anywhere via an online library of more than [3,300] teaching videos. We are providing $2 million to support the creation of more courses and to enable the Khan Academy to translate their core library into the world’s most widely spoken languages.”
